CircuitCity.com has the Nintendo DS Lite System in Onyx Black, Pink, or White for $130 with free shipping. The DS Lite is one of the most popular and innovative (not to mention fun) portable gaming systems. [Review : BizRate]
It's because the DS is in so much demand, retailers have no need to discount it at all. The only gaming system harder to find is the Wii. Even the DS goes out of stock a lot.
Your best bet is to find a deal that isn't specific to the DS, and apply it to the DS. For example, TARGET.COM occasionally has a 10% off anything sale, and it doesn't exclude the DS. Just wait for it, then apply the coupon, and presto!
Your next best bet is to use Google Checkout to buy it ($10 off if you're a new customer.)
The weakest deal is to find a bundle. Sometimes the bundle actually gives you a price break on one of the extra accessories. This is really weak, because it's hard to find a bundle with items you were going to buy anyways. And many bundles don't actually give you a discount.
your best bet is to locate some private distributor that ship these straight out of China where Nintendo makes them. I'm guessing the average production cost of these are around 60 bux. For 140 bux or so you can get the DS unit, R4 or SuperCard adeptor, USB SD card reader, Kingston/Sandisk 1gb micro SD and all the roms that you can dl and play for free. And I should also add that most Japanese roms have English text built into them. All translations were done by the language department at Nintendo so they're not like, "I go fly kite" or something like that. Titles like Phoenix bacon 2: Justice For All were available for dl 2 weeks before the actual US launch date.
I went amazon. At first they couldn't ship on original ship date, but actual ship date wasn't that much later. Got it about 1 week after ordering (white version).
i clowned on this on my last post, but i found some cool games. ive grown to enjoy my NDS.
i have to get one of these, but they never go on sale or have any deals posted.

Well, at least you're honest and don't claim to be only using those flash card adapters for homebrew software.
