Once some solid games that are DSi-specific start being released, I'll probably spring for one of these bad boys. Til then, my trusty DS Lite is more than enough!
Wait for the XL.
Unless things have changed since I last read about them don't wait for the XL. The resolution isn't any better so graphics will be worse. It will also be awkward to hold.
The DSi is a lot better than the DS Lite. It makes a pretty good music player too if you don't mind converting mp3 to m4a.

Yes #3, graphics on the XL may look a bit more pixelated, but for oldsters with fat hands and tired eyes the benefits may outweigh the drawbacks.
