Hmm.. not a bad selection of games, but not sure if I want to shell out $695 right off the bat.
get this from Costco, that way when you realize that the first batch of these have "issues" you can return it and get a new one. no more beta testing for you.
thanks for the heads up
I agree, $700 (plus tax) is alot of money for the Wii - especially if i dont know how the games are.
What happened to the good ole days when I could get a new console without having to spend an additional $400 on games and accessories?!
Any idea what time this sale starts?
I'm pretty sure stock will be plentiful this year. Just pick one up from Target, Wal-mart, etc...
I highly doubt issues with the Wii. Nintendo seems to have a pretty good reputation thus far. They're not MS.
$695 seems too much for an untested console. People were complaining about the PS3 being $600+. This is different with the included accessories, but it is just too much up front.
Man, I remember buying original Nintendo with 2 controllers AND Super Mario Brothers for $299. Those were the days. BTW the original Nintendo DID have hardware issues, as mine became very temperamental about how you put in a cartridge. My bro and I fired up Tecmo Bowl the other day and had problems, then we noticed that it still had Nintendos 1-800 number still on the sticker, so we called it to see if they could fix it. Quite a funny conversation, but they told us to buy a Wii and "rebuy" all our games and download them for the Wii. I think not, I'll just download the roms and emulate them, since they don't want to fix my Nintendo...
Don't buy the games jsut download them... Ummm I mean backup... =) only if you have a copy that your friends bought you!
There isn't a low stock on these like PS3, I think you will be able to pick them up. I know the Nintendo Stores will have enough for walk ins. Targets and Walmarts will have some too.
Wii might be difficult to get but not impossible.
too expensive not a deal
I don't think this is worth it.
Isn't the Wii $250?
Extra controller: $40?
1 GB SD: 30?
6 Games: 50 each?
Better off buying a PS3.
Yeah, I don't exactly want to buy all those launch games right off the bat. How much of a deal is this? Are the games 50 or 60 dollars retail?
#11, all you need is a replacement 72 pin connector for your NES. You can get them on ebay for 10 bucks, shipped. Takes about 20 minutes to replace...no soldering or anything. Just a few screws. I have fixed quite a few NES's like this, and afterwards they work like new. That system was honestly built like a tank.
#11 - Nice retro reflection on NES - You didnt spring for the robot/gun combo? Haha, as any true NES owner knows there is an art to getting the games to work (blow 2 times, shove the cartridge in, and while pressing reset hit power).
As for this deal, unless you want to freeze yourself a la Eric Cartman you may have to buy something like this to get the system by xmas. I think you may be better off shelling out the $$$ and not opening the add-ons, then take them back to Target for store credit and buy your Xmas presents there.
the powerglove was the greatest accessory ever for the NES.
I remember when I got my SNES.
It was $199 and it came with 2 controllers AND Super bacon-lust.
Long live the good old days D:
