Walmart.com has the Nintendo Wii Console by itself for $249 + $17 shipping = $266 shipped. Also be careful with the controller, lest you injure yourself and wind up as yet another Wii injury statistic.

I would need some of that Obama bulletproof glass in front of my new lcd before I even thought of adding a wii to it.

This is a deal because you can't get them for any cheaper on line.

Wii's still sell out regularly in my area so it's nice to know they are available online. Now Wii Fit with the balance board is a whole other ball of wax. Those are just as ghostly as the Wii's 2 years ago.

#2, unless you live with rodeo cowboy, your TV should be fine. I've never seen anybody drop a wii remote. The real danger is hitting somebody as you swing your arms around. This seems to happen most often durning tennis, or other 4 player games in a small room. Plus, they come with big rubber bumpers on them now, so I don't think even a thrown Wii remote would break a TV.

Just bought a console at Target today (they had 5 in-store) for $249 - 10% (new CC account) = $225

    I still think it's a rip-off, but the unit isn't for me.

This is more than $266. You still get charged tax.

#8, its the other way around. Unless you live with rodeo cowboy who don't know how to play, there's always a good chance of someone's remote slipping out.The only way you'd hit someone next to you was if you tried to play in an 8 foot room.

#9 that's more indicative of rampant idiocy than rampant Wii problems. The damned things come with a wrist strap.

I got little kids and it's still not a problem because we enforce the "everyone sits but player up" rule and the "use wrist strap" rule. Every time someone violates the rule they get sidelined for the day, then the week. A third violation results in a family kick circle. I run a strict house, my friend.

Why are people still getting the Wii? I just don't get it...for the same $$ or less...one can get the PS3, if you know where to look.

Well, you could get HALF a PS3 at least. Not much fun to be had there. I've got 3 kids who play Wii and no one has been hurt and nothing has been broken. Even they understand that in order to throw a virtual baseball you don't actually have to heave your arm 100 mph.
