T-Mobile has the Nokia 6030 T-Mobile To Go Prepaid Phone with Free $25 Prepaid Refill Card for $30 - $30 rebate [Exp 9/30] = Free with free shipping. Limit 2 per household. You can also fill out the rebate form online.
Does anyone know if you put in your own sim from another t-mobile phone will this work? It'd be a cheap way to replace an old t-mobile phone without having to sign up for another contract.
I put in a SIM from my wife's T-Mobile prepaid Motorola and it worked. Also a Verizon SIM. You don't need to unlock it if you have a T-Mobile SIM, but T-Mobile will give you the unlock code after two months of use. Plus there is a free unlock code for this one on the web; I used that on mine.
If you buy $100 airtime, that translates to 1000 minutes (10 cents a minute). The bonus is that the airtime lasts for an entire year, and any additional airtime (even small amounts) last for an entire year. Best deal I've found on a US PAYG service, including very good 24/7 support.
I believe this phone is not possible to unlock, even though other 6030's are. I got it a few weeks ago and got the version RM-225 (Google it). Still, it should work with any T-Mobile SIM.
I bought two from Target about 8 months ago -- buy a $50 phone card, get the phone for free. Haven't opened the second one; keeping mainly for a spare battery. Have not heard that newer ones cannot be unlocked. T-Mobile advertises that they will give you the unlock code after two months of service.
#7, this is where I think I got the code earlier: unlock.nokiafree.org. It seems that they do not have all the info they used to. Also the 6030 is not in their calculator. The RIAA or somebody similar must have got to them.

Bought three weeks ago for exact same deal. The $30 rebate has been approved. Plus $10 airtime once it is activated.

Good deal, I guess, but how is the phone?
This is what I get:
Order Error

Does any body have problem ordering this? I keep getting the above error.

I got two of these three weeks ago, and wanted to get two more for my kids, but I get the error at the last page.
What's the big deal? These aren't even good phones.

Rebate is YMMV if you buy online....
