Can this be unlocked and used with a T-Mobile SIM card?

Unfortunately you have to add a plan to get the phone at this price. You can do this w/o a contract and cancel the plan after one month and then keep the phone but will cost you an $45 extra for the plan. Why bother? Well you can use the phone with strait talk. Great price still at $125 for this excellent phone - if you like windows that is. I have had this phone and loved it...

Will not work this T-Mobile as is - however, yes, you can buy an unlock code from
    ebay.
    They cost about $35.

I think StraightTalk will require you buy a SIM from them. I can't keep track of the costs. Everything is changing every day.

However if one was simply going to use it with straight talk I don't think they would have to pay the $35 activation fee. I wonder if at&t would refund the $45 after one received the phone if they asked customer service?

And to answer a previous question, yes, it does need a sim from straight talk to work with them. Not too expensive but I forget the amount.
