bought one of these as a grad gift for my gf. seems like we had to pay for all the good apps. returned it a few days later. got the kindle fire instead
If you're considering this, get the Nexus 7 tablet instead.
I have a rooted Nook Color. Would there be any reason to upgrade to the tablet? And is the tablet rootable like the color is? I have enjoyed the Nook Color especially with the rooted SD card. My only complaint is the power cord.
With new nexus 7 out in couple of weeks I wouldn't spend money on the old refurbished tablet.
I agree with the nexus coming out so soon for such a cheap price.
Nexus doesn't have SD slot. That's a deal killer for me. Some people mention using micro-USB for storage but that's a kludge.
On the flip side, Nexus will something like 12 cores, 4 for CPU and 8 for GPU. It will also Jellybean. Their marketing also touts how they focused on eliminated lag on the UI, which is something Apple always did well. Still, no SD slot would make me wait even longer.
Nexus also has much higher res screen.Reviews say it looks really nice.
You have to love a 1280 x 800 IPS screen in a 7" form factor for $200!
Rooted Nook Color runs slow. I did not see much improvement even after overclocking it. Spend an extra $150 and get yourself a refurbished IPad 2.
