I doubt you can find a better tablet at this price. It can boot from uSD card into a hacked ROM. There's even ways to have a boot menu to select boot ROM. Remove the card and it's a stock nook. It's almost impossible to brick. You can also install the ROM into main storage as well but recovery is easy via uSD boot process. It also has blue tooth on CM7 nightlies that supports BT tethering. I use my Android phone to get this thing on-line from anywhere I get a cell signal.

Nook Color 2 is scheduled to be announced Nov 7th. The Nook Color 2 is expected to have a $199 price to match the Amazon Fire.

That said, at 139 bucks this is a solid pick.

Yep, and with a year or so of dev behind it, it makes a sturdy, reliable Android tablet. Who knows how crippled or semi-crippled the new Amazon and Nook tabs will be?

I bought one of these last week for $149 (doh), just went ahead and rooted the whole thing rather than use the memory card and have been playing with it. I'm very satisfied with the tabled and I also find that I really like the 7-inch form factor a lot more than I thought I would.

Dang, Buy.com charges tax when I try to order, making the shipped cost a little over $151. Sucky.
