Barnes & Noble has the Nook Color Android eBook Reader (BNRV200) on pre-order for $249 with free shipping. Features the new 1024x600 VividView color touchscreen, built-in wifi, games via NookExtras, microSD card slot, supports most major eBook, MP3/AAC music and MP4 movie formats, and runs Android OS. CrunchGear has a hands-on review with video.
I like my current nook's battery life (7-8 days between recharges with wifi off, for about 2-3 hours of reading a day). I wouldn't give that up for a color screen.
You'd also lose the e-ink screen which is the whole point of an eReader. This screen will be murder on your eyes after a few hours of reading.
They're just trying to get in on the tablet market with an eReader that looks like a tablet but that you can't install or run other apps on.
That video gives a good sense of the interface but it's painful to hear B&N's demonstrator activate the article view and declare, "You can look at it in bigger."
e-ink or gtfo. this is basically a computer that does less stuff.
1/2" thick and weighs almost a pound? 8 hour battery life? No access to Android Market? I'll stick to my Kindle for eReading, and my Android phone for everything else, thanks.
