the hell with the rebate, why can't they just give us the deal instead
If it were just on sale, then every one they sell, they get less money for it. By offering a rebate, they get to keep the extra money from people who:
1) Don't buy it from an "authorized retailer"
2) Forget, and don't send in for the rebate with the very short dates.
3) Try and send in their packing slip, rather than an invoice, and therefore didn't follow the requirements, and get declined.
Agreed. Put a rant about rebates a bit back. Just referring to the software, though, I am coming back to Norton for my kid's rig. After boycotting their bloatware for several years, I tried last years offering for free (after rebate!) and was pleasantly surprised. they seemed to have slimmed the program down substantially such that it was far less of a resource pig than ever before. Great protection for the little ones. too.
Your kids can't lay off the porn- eh? Download malwarebytes. It's reliable, it has unlimited updates, and it's free (except if you want their premium, but even then you can download the premium torrent for free.)!
Does this version take over your PC like most Norton products of past?
I don't know if it works any better than previous products, but you've got to like the exciting box redesign!
