Frys has the Norton Internet Security 2010 3-User for $55 - $25 rebate [Exp 11/26] - $20 competitive upgrade rebate [Exp 11/26] = $5 picked up only. The new 2010 edition promises more enhancements and of course more virus definitions. [Compare]

still not worth it. Why would I pay $5 to downgrade 3 of my computers by 20%?

Works by making computer run so slow that you will never be able to get on the internet. Only #3 uses it.

It doesn't slow anything down unless you keep virus scanners and other garbage running all the time. Anyone with a clue only scans on demand.

Wow you really can't have a metamorphose of your minds... you obviously haven't read up on this and or used it. It's a true metamorphose from the older Norton ISS of 2005-2006 versions.

If you don't like rebates nor need a retail box and CD, you can purchase a license via eBay for like $10. You then download the program from Symantec and you're good to go after installing it and entering the license key.

I snagged a 3PC 2 year license for $17. Buy from someone w/good feedback just to be on safe side vs. someone who's only been a member for like a few days or weeks.

I swore off paying for security software for the last 5 years, but this product really is lean on system resources unlike versions from prior years.

Much better than the old version, I still like the plain old Norton Antivirus 2010 without all the x-tra crap.

Why pay for crappy software when you can get a lot better for free?

Good luck dealing with another PIFTS outbreak. I'm sticking with ClamWin.

No way, no how. Five years of having to pull this bloated garbage off students' computers because it was expired or otherwise broken is not forgotten so quickly.

I thought the 2009 up Norton has been debloated. Is there an option to just install AV NOT the other bloat ?

#13 ask #5 and #6 as they claim it is better than the old stuff. Of course those of us with a brain aren't so dumb.

#10 - MSE. And it doesn't slow your computer down like Norton. I just took Norton off (and installed MSE) on all of the computers at my wife's office. Everyone thought I put a new CPU in or increased the amount of RAM. Systems run much smoother without Norton in the background clogging up the works. And when Norton scans, don't on doing anything productive.

#13, that sort of thing just doesn't fly in the software industry today. Like with a book, people judge the quality of something by its weight. If it's a bigger app, it *must* have had more time put into it and therefore *must* be more durable than something that'll fit on a 1.44 MB floppy.
