#1 not any more. Rewritten to be light and efficient. Generally top rated. Yes it used to be bad but evidently they took the complaints to heart. Around Christmas there was a similar bundle that also included Partition Tragic also FARB. The problem is the rebate will be in the form of a debit card that is a PITA to use up since it doesn't work in many places and can only buy something less than the balance so as it gets less it is harder to zero out. Should be a law against this crap. Send me a check bastards!

Yea, bloatware and its not free for me - $5 in sales tax on $70 purchase. It should also claim as a feature "incessant nagging about all the Norton products you DON'T own"

Its not free, but i use ComputerAssociates (CA.com) virus scanner. Non intrusive and works.

    Enjoy Smile

#2, I thought Norton 360 was included in this rewrite to be "light and efficient"?

360 is a tremendous system hog.

#2 - Paid or not, it's true. Plenty of references to back up his info.

#5 - Depends on which version of Norton 360 you are referring to. For some reason, their marketing geniuses don't give version years, just version numbers. Version 3 is the version with the improvements. Most companies products are now subscription based, so if you have an older version of 360 with an active subscription, just download and install the new version. Your existing subscription will carry over

Ghost 14 is by far the worst version of Ghost, though. Ghost 2003 still works great.

#9 - I think I had to start using Ghost 14 when I got my new computer. The previous version I had didn't work with the SATA hard drive. Not sure if that was Ghost 2003 or not though. Unfortunately, technology doesn't always allow for backwards compatibility.

I've been a Norton user for quite awhile, even through the bloat years. But I've found this version to be noticeably lighter on the resources. If you haven't tried it lately and are still calling it bloat, spring for the $0 and give it another shot.

This deal comes around every now and then, but free shipping is rare. Unfortunately, I already bought it, so I would not qualify for another upgrade rebate.
