Got the 4gb version free with a power supply from newegg a few days ago. Solid little piece of tech. Feels like metal. No flex to it at all. Fairly bright red led that blinks all the time - kinda annoying when plugged into my car stereo. Acrylic end cap is snug but generally worthless as it is not attached. Havent done any speed tests but it's just as fast as all the other ones I have.

Have been using this since about July. I use it mainly for my movie viewing on my standalone Phillips dvp5992 dvd player. The red LED flashes all through the movie viewing, but so far, it has worked like a charm, with minimal lag. Will wait till these hit 10bucks, and then will pickup another one for use around the college campus (use a 4 gig for school stuff now)

You'll feel like crap when you lose the cap. (Hey, that rhymes)
Buy the SanDisk 8GB cruzer flash drive instead for $19.99.
I've been using these drives for years without any problems.

    OK, no more rhymes.

Yes, this drive is faster, but the SanDisk isn't that slow and the convenience of no cap to worry about and the drives excellent reliability make the SanDisk a better buy IMO.

who needs a cap, anyways? I had a 512MB crucial gizmo for four years and lost the cap in the first six months. I just kept using it, sans cap. No problems, I seriously just kept in in my pocket with all the lint, still worked like a charm. finally, after four years, it accumulated a bad sector or two and i got a transcend 8GB. The moral being, don't worry about the cap, you can do without one.

Why does this one require so much power? Most run off the power provided by the USB port but this requires diesel. With diesel costing more than gasoline and gasoline being so high priced itself, why would they make this diesel powered? Then to top it off (no pun intended) people loose the cap and the diesel can come splashing out.

    #9,

All the more reason to buy the SanDisk, it's electric.

Just like this car I hope to buy when the price comes down. LOL!
