If you are only looking to buy 2GBs of PC2 6400, this would probably be the best deal you can get at the moment.

I have this same exact memory in two of my computers, they are fast and are overclocked to the hilt thanks to this memory.

They also run cool thanks to the excellent heat spreaders.

One thing about OCZ rebates, make sure you are on your toes when seding for your rebate check as they only allow you 14 days for them to receive all the paperwork.

That is 14 days, including weekends, from the day you make your purchase!

I do not work for NewEgg, but I've been a customer for years. I also do not work for OCZ, but I am a relatively new customer of theirs now.

#1, "excellent heat spreaders"? They're construction paper thin! More for looks, than actual cooling.

That's your perception of them, mine is different and these heat spreaders DO keep the RAM very cool, dizzum

I'm not sure thickness has anything to do with performance for the heatspreaders. Mainly it's the material they use and there are also size restrictions. For this price, any heat spreader is a welcome addition.

Good deal. OCZ works well. How good are they in rebates?

#4, Performance? That would be the frequency and timings. Cooling effectiveness would be the Heatsinks (Or spreaders), and the thickness of the metal being used would have a lot to do with how well it's cooled if no fan is present. If you've owned quality ram then you know what a good heatsink looks/feels like. I'm not putting down the ram, only stating that the "XTC" mesh cooling is severely over-rated.

#1,3, This was my very first kit of DDR2 ram and I thought they were "Groovy" myself, Until I actually bought better ram. It's $19, That's pretty cheap for such an innovative cooling system.... Don't you think?

Got my rebate in with no problems three or four times always within a month of submitting. Do be careful of the rebate time limit though.

Which version is better: gold edition vs. platinum?
