As a general rule I prefer items that have a combined 4 & 5 star rating of at least 80%.
    This one misses the mark.
And of course the rebate thing definitely kills it.

This is a great price on a great PSU. If you need something around this wattage(or less), this is an excellent deal.

The only shortcoming seems to be the low number of molex connectors. You may need a splitter if you're using some PATA drives.

If you'd like to read more about this power supply, Hardware Secrets has a review up of the 600watt version of this power supply.

I'm currently using the 600watt version of this power supply in my gaming computer, and it's working great.

Great deal on a solid power supply. Lower reviews might have been from ripple running out of spec issues on earlier models. Those have been subsequently resolved. Also, I've had a good experience with OCZ rebates.

Good value for a typical midrange system.

#4: the StealthXStream power supplies are also made by FSP, with the same design as the GameXStream models(except no LED fans). Take a look at the review of the StealthXStream 600watt power supply here: http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/451

they note that the circuit board used for that power supply is the same one used for the GameXStream 700watt power supply.

Also, they note that this StealthXStream 600watt power supply can actually output 728watts.

Now, the GameXStream 700watt units go on sale for $50. The StealthXStream 600watt PSU's go on sale for $20. Why pay over double the price? Either supply can put out 700watts.

Now, I do agree that the GameXStream models do use somewhat higher quality parts. But, the parts used on the StealthXStream models are perfectly fine.

Also, where are you getting tier 3 from? The OCZ StealthXStream power supplies are in tier 2. take a look: http://www.eggxpert.com/forums/thread/323050.aspx

Ah the review I had read before somewhere must have been a new gamexstream and an old stealthxstream, sweet deal. I'm buying this as a backup now.

#8: don't use these as backup power supplies, Raidmax power supplies are junk. Replace them with these much higher quality SealthXStream units as soon as possible.

If you'd like to see an example of Raidmax power supply quality, take a look at this: http://www.corsair.com/cinema/movie.aspx?id=622747

the "budget power supply" that they show in the video there is a Raidmax unit.
