eCost.com has the OCZ Technology 16GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive for $39 - $30 rebate [Exp 1/16] + $10 shipping = $19 shipped after rebate. It has a durable and colorful rubber tread housing for easy grip and protection, giving it 100% weatherproof capability. The 32GB Drive is $55 shipped after rebate.

I think having a rebate that constitutes over 50% of the purchase price is a fail.

exactly. the whole rebate thing is a scam.

Consider even the most conservative estimate of %1 of people who buy this not sending in the rebate (in time or with the correct info or whatever).

So say they sell only 100 of these. That's 19 bux times 99 (and if you think the shipping costs them 10 bux think again)= 1881. Plus 39 for the jamoke that didnt send in the rebate = 2020. They're making big profits on this item no matter what.

Actually, the return rate of rebates is 17%, and I'm failing to see how rebates are scam. If the consumer chooses to not return the rebate how exactly is the company scamming consumers? If the consumer chooses to just throw out returned rebate request, then yes, that's a scam. Otherwise, it's up to you to return it. Consumers should stop scamming themselves.

I've had pretty good success with rebates, never tried with OCZ though.

Of course they are making profits, that's what businesses try to do.
