RTFFP (Read The Fine Print). No fees != no obligation to pay. You MUST pay at least the minimum due each month or suffer the consequences. After the 1 year period (or if you are late on any payment), your interest rate will be either 13.5%, 15.5%, or 18.5% (variable, based on today's prime rate) depending on your credit. Cash advance is 23%.

Oh, and if you are late on 2 pmts in a 12 month period, all your rates will be put at 29% for a year.

i have a chase freedom card . 3% cash back for the 1st $600 . great deal. except I made a late payment one time, and my interest rate went from 13.99 to 29.00
be cautious in these economic environment. banks will try their hardest to get some fees involved if you messed up once.

American Ex just hates people who pay their bills.
They make no money... Pay your bills on time and you win.

Not everyone takes Am-Ex, either. I wonder what qualifications for getting this card are now during these economic times?

my liquor store won't take AMEX, not accepted at many places because they charge the merchant too much.
