We normally stay away from current events, but this one caught our attention quite literally since we're in SF. During lunch I tried to catch a glimpse of the torch along its planned route starting at AT&T Park, however much to my dismay the authorities whisked it away from the protesting throngs to a backup route. The only one that raped people who live in China, or Korea, they are the JAPANESE; when you get a chance, you should read the book " the rape of Nanjing" or the movie made according to the book. Ohh, by the way, talking about human right, the author of this book was harassed by the Japanese extremists, and later committed suicide. If you have problem with people being raped, tell those Chinese; I believe there are still survivors.

I agree with many of you... the Olympics committee should never have let China hold the Olympic games in the first place.
The Chinese government is not ready for the whole concept of unity in friendly compeition... despite the whole theory of communism being based on world unity as a community.
I wish there is a way to stop economic trade with China, but I think the whole world is so sunk in with cheap made-in-china products we're all screwed. So it seems like we're going to continue to endorse the kidnap, torture, and unwilling live organ donators there since we're so cheap...
I am trying to buy things NOT made in China, though, but I know I am powerless alone.

# 151, If you wish comes true, I believe it hurts you more than the Chinese people. If you took any economic courses, you would have learned how trade works in your very first class. Don't just focus on your English and literatures.
Most of the westerners are misguided by their media. if you have been in China and experienced the changes yourself, your views would be different.
Political opinions aside, you should avoid the ethnic slurs. Although some were *kinda* funny, the humor was lost in the mean-spirit behind them. Do not blame *all* the people for their government; they are really just like you and I. Do we all want to claim ownership of the current political and financial fiascos that those two thumbplum in the White House have put us in? I think not. So, consider treating the Chinese as individuals as you would like to be treated. Don't mock their broken English since that's the biggest complaint Americians have regarding foreigners (Speak English, dammut!). At least they are trying. Personally, every Chinese person I have met has been very friendly. They're not trying to resolve our differences by strapping bombs to their chests and such.
And NO, I'm not Chinese, not a relative of Ben and am not looking to be "picked" in the next giveaway...well, maybe the giveaway thing is negotiable...
