Not audiophile quality but Onkyo makes a much better than average home theater in a box. The receivers are usually good enough to be the basis of a better system as money allows upgrades to better speakers.

own it - yes #2 the sub is a passive junk - i replaced it with a powered sub and now I'm happy - good entry level system
