Onkyo is known for their quality, but I'd rather spend more if I was going for the decent home theater experience. Don't spend that little on an HTIB -- save up and buy something you know will last you years and years to come. My father got something like that, and his speakers are still going strong 20 years later. That's what we call a good investment!
i read mixed reviews on amazon for the onkyo HTIBs, some people complained about bad manufacturing (defects) and some buzzing noise. I think onkyo's cheaper models tend to be, well, cheaper. But for the price, i think it's good if you have a smaller room, or if you don't have a good grasp of speaker/AVRs yet, start with something that is already matched before dropping a thousand dollars on something you won't know is good or fully appreciate.
Anyone know how the sound quality on this is?
i have this. I really like it. it sounds excellent.

Onkyo still makes their share of high end home audio, so it's all good.
#3 - I know - an entry level Onkyo receiver used to cost $600 minimum - for the receiver only!
Just bought one a few weeks ago. For me This unit Sounds Great. Just make sure you get some Real speaker wires when you connect everything....
I don't know about everyone else, but the I/O options kind of kill it for me...
