Does anyone know if this system is any good? I've been looking for a home theatre in this price range, so if you have other recommendations around $300, please let me know.
Thanks in advance!
Can anyone suggest a receiver to replace the receiver that came with my Onkyo HT-S770 system? The specs for my current system are below.

I would like to upgrade to one with HDMI connections (hopefully 3in 1 out) and as much output (though I know not all output claims are created equal). I would like to spend around this much or less and don't mind if it is refurbished. Thanks.

What was rated #1? I want to know so I can avoid it.
I think this system offers a great bang for the buck, at this price you really can't go wrong. A word of advice, if you are considering this unit, I would recommend that you try to demo it at a store in your area before pulling the trigger. The box weighs over 100lbs and you have to pay the return freight if you're not satisified.

Onkyo makes solid quality products. My parents bought an all-in-one system a few years back and that thing rocks. I don't know who makes their speakers, but they sound quite good.
Does anyone know if there is a wireless speaker kit that I can use for the rear speakers on this system?
#1, it is a bad idea to buy a stereo or HT system without listening to it first.
Only buy Onkyo receivers. Its speakers crap.
#10 is right, onkyo makes great rcvr but speakers are not so great. however at < $300 probably not too bad for the $$
I bought the older version on this kit 2 years ago and that day i found out how good music can sound. Onkyo makes the best receivers on the market and their TIB kits include real speakers That are hard to beat when it comes to sound. They move alot of air. The problem most people have with these systems is that the speakers are large. They are hard to hide in your living room. I am in the process of replacing mine with built in speakers that don't sound as good but look better. Anyone that says that these speakers are crap prabably doesn't own them. Just don't expect to hide them. I have yet to see wire less speakers that are any good but that doesn't mean they don't exist.

it's the third on the list, click on it for the full review, it's a review by someone credible.
It's a decent system, but keep in mind that the HDMI inputs on the receiver are pass-thru's only -- meaning you will have to hook up an audio source to have sound. I was a little disappointed by this, but you can't really expect everything from a system that retails for less than $500.
This refurb model seems to be available for under $300 from several resellers on Froogle.
i bought this brand new for about $350.. great system for a great price.
$349
this price is not too bad.... but i rather by JBL speakers.
yea, speakers aren't that great
