Excellent receiver. Love mine. And it doesn't have the weird lip-sync issues that the 705 and 805 seem to have because of their three DSP chips.

I have had this receiver at my house for a couple of months now. It is a pretty solid unit. I really enjoy the night mode on it. This tones down the effects channels while keeping the dialogue in the center channel audible. THis is great when you have 2 small kids in bed at 8pm.

Also keep in mind that unit gets **HOT**. You will need adeqaute ventilation or you burn it up in a very short amount of time.

#1, not everyone here listens to Ashley Simpson, or Britney Spears. Is it OK for those people to buy the 705 or 805 receiver? Thanks in advance!

@ #1 the lip sync issue is there because there's a default delay, you have to shut it off

Nice receiver. This will output ALL inputs over an HDMI connection to your TV. Only thing it will not do is upconvert any analog signal to anything higher than 720p. If your HD Cablebox is set to a fix resolution (mine was 720p) it would not display video. Changing it back to autonegotiate fixed the issue.

#5.... it doesn't matter .. the rodeo cowboy posting at #1 does not even have a 705 or 805

I have a strangely shaped home theater room, I upgraded to the 805 mostly just for this ... http://www.audyssey.com/.
