Go with the TX-SR806 which is coming soon. Supposedly it has 5 hdmi input switching.

You're kidding, right? You think your stuff is going to look better upscaled to 1080p? If so, you're wrong. In case you're just not understanding, your 1080p content will still be passed through at 1080p. That's all you should care about.

That it's not upconverting to 1080p is a non-issue.

You'll never notice the difference on 1080i or p upscaling.

it doesn't do upscaling on HDMI sources only component e your POS cable box or dvd player. 1080i is just as good as 720p and that's all your cable box is gonna spew out on 90% of their channels. No cable company or satalitie company has 1080p content.

Blu-Ray or HDMI based dvd player or xbox? No upconversion it goes right to pass-thru. 1080p in 1080p out.

You try to find all the other specs that this monster can do at the $400 price break. you won't find it. Onkyo is good in the low end entry Home theater system. You want 1080p then you are dropping 500-700 for it.

I used to be like you and go "OMG 1080P ONLY!!11!" until I learned better and realized it doesn't matter as 720p and 1080i are just as good.
