I have to say that the 7.2 spec really improves on Surround sound - it replaces the 2 extra rear speakers with 2 additonal FRONT speakers, in a "height" configuration. Makes for great sound effects. The only reason I didn't buy this Onkyo was that it features only the limited "2EQ" version of the Audessey suite. I bought Denon instead, with the full "MultiEQ" suite, and it seems to make a difference. My Denon went (literally) up in smoke after 2 months, however.
I like these little Onkyos. I have the older (last years) 606 in my bedroom and it's a good receiver. In my opinion the best bang for the buck.
Wow, #1, that's a great endorsement of Denon! LOL.
#1, did you mean your Denon overheat or was there a fire in your house?
Newegg has this for 379 with 2 hdmi cables and some kind of cleaning cloth. Seems like a better deal.
Don't waste your money on this.
#6 Has no idea. I have had this unit for 5 mo's now and it is a great receiver. I do not use the extra 2 front speakers however. I have it set up in 6.1 and LOVE it.
This is an awesome receiver. It's the cheapest Onkyo that has HDMI audio support.
And this is a great price.
Good deal, although right above the comment window is an ad for PCRichard.Com, with the HT-RC160 *plus* UPA1 iPod dock for only 338.
