Good price, great VOIP phone service. I've used Ooma since January '10, saved $60 a month by dropping my Qwest line(s).

Recenty picked up the newer version of this, and was really impressed. One major downside was the lack of a local number. They didn't even have a number in my AREA code (573), never mind my local exchange number. It's not a huge area code, but covers over 300 cities, 600 exchanges, and about a million people.. I would have expected some availability. If you are in a major bacon-lust area, you'll probably be ok - otherwise give ooma a call first and check availability.

Number availability is not a problem if you plan on porting your current land line number to the Ooma ($40 fee).

The device works well, I've had mine for over a year and am now in the free money zone, as the savings have more than paid for the equipment.

I bought the newer version of this as well, it's called the Telo. It was 200 at Bestbuy so I've got 10 months of use before it pays for itself (that comes out to roughly $20/mo for ATT phone). So far so good, I've had it for approx 2 months now and haven't had an issue.

My Ooma Telo is working fine and should pay for itself in about four more months. Couldn't put this where I wanted on my network because it blocked traffic between the wireless and wired networks. Bummer there, but worked around it.

I ended up having to connect it ahead of my router, not really what I wanted either but it doesn't seem to cause any issues as far as bandwidth goes.
