Great brush, but the battery only lasted a year. Got a similar deal for $50 a few weeks ago from Amazon to replace it. At this price, it is less than a new handle (if you can find one).

I have the 4000 model (50% off) and love it. If you need the extra base get this. Rebate is fast.

For $3 a tooth brush can do the same thing.

Let me know if this works if you do it. I tried at this retailer for a Sonicare and they cancelled it. I've not had good luck with ds.com.

#3, you must have horrible teeth. Mechanical toothbrushes has been proven to be more effective/efficient than manual toothbrushes- by at least 5x. Let go of the caveman tool and step into the 21st century.

I used these Oral-B toothbrushes for years as well as the Philips Sonicare. The Oral-B irritated my gums and my professional cleanings took longer compared to when using Philips. Goodbye Oral-B, hello Sonicare.

sonicare batteries die in 3 days. that's what happened to me. have been using my oral-B for 2 years and still going strong! plus, it removes plaque better than sonicare. you can look it up on NIH, etc.

    here's some for you:
    http://www.oralbprofessional.com/us/pdfs/0934.pdf

less gingivitis and plaque formation with oral-B.
    http://www.benco.com/pdf_files/cecourses/power_toothbrushes.pdf

both are still easier and less traumatic on the gum compared to manual brushing

I've tried both and like the Sonicare better. The hygienist even commented on how clean my teeth were on the last visit.
