I saw one of these at Circuit City for $5. Check the boxes where they have all the store items that aren't retail items. (phones, clipboards, surge protectors, shelf tags, etc).

I don't know if this was just an open box item or if they were using it for the store.

I was able to buy shelves and some price tags at my local Circuit City. The employee there even tried selling me the cash register, but tax killed the deal.

these things are cool. it's too bad you can't plug in big items like air conditioners or microwaves though.

#5, at 1875VA you'd be hard pressed to find a microwave it couldn't handle unless it was an industrial unit.

However, that's backwards thinking. You don't actually need to know what your microwave uses, because it is one of the most efficient ways to cook there is! It's off/standby power is trivial, what you would want instead is a way to measure how much more power it takes to use your oven or burners instead.

A hint - you don't need to know that either, if something will fit in a toaster oven that is the more efficient way to cook anything you don't want turning out grey and rubbery like it may in a microwave, or if you're really anal about power usage, wrap a layer of foiled insulation around a crock pot and ignore the strange looks for being a freak.

Actually, the microwave's standby power is probably just as bad as any other random small appliance with a clock.

LMAO if that were to happen.

"Uh, sir, we accidently gave you a register that still had money in it, we'd ask that you kindly return the money."

"Sorry, no returns and all sales are final, BITCH"
