Very handy gadget. Found that my filter was eating 60W, as much as leaving an old light bulb on! This will pay for itself in a few months of power savings.

Fortunately my HP-5p laser printer only draws 3 watts at idle, but I turn it off anyway when not printing since I don't print too often.

My PC speakers draw something like 15 watts at idle, so I have them plugged into a "smart" power strip that turns off my PC speakers and my desk fan (also about 15 watts) when I turn off my PC.

Eric, that Heidi robot on your site is pretty cool. Is it hard to clean the semen out of it? Is it washable?

I need another one to figure out how much power a Kill-a-watt draws.

We all know we should unplug our stuff. This isn't going save anyone money. But, it is interesting to know the actual numbers.

#7: But not everything draws power when turned off, and some things draw a negligible amount (for example, under 1 watt), and other things draw a lot (for example 10-100 watts) when off. Some items even draw a negligible amount when on. So, if someone is concerned with saving electricity, it helps to know which items make a difference and which don't.

And if you are someone who builds power-efficient computer systems, this tool is invaluable, and there are other people who actually need a power meter too.
