SuperMediaStore.com has the new P3 International P4460 Kill A Watt Electricity Usage Detector for $50 with free shipping. It improves upon the original P4400 (which is included in this kit as well) by providing direct energy cost calculations so that you can see how much your plug-in gadgets cost to leave on. [BizRate]
I have the P2, its great to have it around the house to determine what you should have unplugged. But the qaulity at least of the P2 is not the best, the ground got lose and I have to solder it back....
#10, if you have anything at all that is pulling over 15A from your (single) 110V outlet you don't need to know the exact amount it's using, only that it's an excessively large energy consumer that should be replaced.
Does it also calculate when this device will have saved you more than the $50 you paid for it?
Pay me $20 and I'll show U how to save $50.
Weird, I saw this for $20 but perhaps it's a lower model?
#3 is too good to read the description Ben gave us. Though it's still overpriced.

How many of these things do we need to buy to get 400,000 cars off of the road?
Yes 400,000 is the magic number.
#6, we would have to first Vote for Hillary, and then buy 800,000 of these. Ok, 800,000 is the magic number.
Buy the old P3 for $20 - It sums KWH use over time like this. The only thing the P3 doesn't do is multiply that times your $cost per kwh
To use the extra feature, you must:
Have an electric bill handy. Dig through the trash, or read cut-off notices.
Plug the unit in. Yes, you must plug it in for the read-out to show. Then you must plug other things into IT. Throw the tie-tapes in the trash.
Find the manual to figure out how to punch in the $cost per kwh. You have to back to the trash to find this. It's at the bottom.
Read the manual. It will tell you in 4 different sections how to type in the $cost per kwh.
Throw the manual in the trash.
Turn on your equipment. Press the $ button. Magic, you've reversed global warming and repaired the ozone. You must now take out the trash.
#6: You can get a lot more than 400,000 cars off the road by putting a big fence at the border.
The price difference is $30 more than the original (which I love btw.). I think I will do some simple math to save $30.
I was hoping to see gen. 2 would take 20amp plug, b/c I would love to easily check some larger stuff.
#7: But think of the savings if we could get Hillary off the middle of the right wing road.
$30 more than the original to simply do the math? Tell me it at least doubles as a phaser or universal remote, anything.

Instead of killing a watt why not an oil company!
Agreed, cost too much to justify use. Just use common sense.
#13, so things use a lot of electricity AND so would the replacement. Not everything has a low power equivalent.
