Amazon has the Paklab 23L Glass Carboy (6 gallon) $30 with free shipping. Italian glass, weighs 2lbs, and is designed for homebrew projects or storing lots of pennies. 11.3L Carboy (3 gallon) also available for $25 with free shipping.
Once had one of these filled with pennies. When I went to move it the bottom broke off from the weight. Pennies and glass all over the floor. The plastic ones work better for pennies.
I wonder how much this weighs full of pennies.
I think i saw this on a breaking bad episode.
Hmm....
6 US gallons = 22,712.4707 cubic centimeters
Penny is 97.5% Zn and 2.5% Cu.
Zn = 7.14 g/cm3.
Cu = 8.94 g/cm3
So, a penny's density is 7.185 g/cm3
Then 7.185 g/cm3 * 22,712.4707 cm3 + 2 lbs glass = 164096.2867195 g = 361.770386 pounds
^ thanks, but I think there might be some air remaining inside too so maybe between 250lbs and 340lbs give or take.
