Only difference might be the Caller ID, but RJ-11 should work the same all over.

My family has this... great for a big house. Lots of headsets make it easy to get to the phone quickly

^ range depends on what else using 1.9GHz in the area, # and angle of walls, etc. Generally it will work in a medium to larger house and 100' away outside with the base in a room with a window. YMMV.

Went and picked one up in-store today...online rebate process is very easy. Used a 10% off coupon to save an extra $12...don't like to have to pay for coupons in the first place, and don't trust the e-junkie process...still a good deal without it, IMO
