I bought this not long ago and paid $800. I thought I was getting a super deal. I can't believe how much the price has dropped on these things. It's a good set BTW.

Just remember that a tv is only as good as the warranty that comes with it and where you need to take it when it fails.

Power consumption and heat depend on contrast level. At my picture settings with my 50" Panny plasma the TV barely gets warm and sucks less power than my 34" CRT did.

Is there much difference between this and LNA550 sold by Newegg for $160 more? Will the price come down more?

#13 Looks like guy didn't have a clue what he was doing if he replaced almost entire inside of set. At least it got fixed.

#15 He said he was doing that be cause one board could have cause the problem with the others . they were like large motherboards (3). Afterward I was amazed that the set looked even better than when i first bought it.

Been looking for a deal like this. The 42" Viera has gotten good reviews. The fact that it is 720p instead of 1080p is not as significant as it sounds. The difference is fairly minimal at this screen size. From what I have read, you have to be sitting fairly close in order to notice it.

Given free shipping, no sales tax (in my state), and a top-rated brand & model, this is the best buy on a 42" that I've seen (and it beats the Black Friday deals -- Sears has a BF deal on this at $699, but then I've got to add sales tax to it).

I did it, I did it! I just could not take the fact that I might miss out on this deal. So I ordered it. I was looking for a bedroom TV since I already have the Viera 50" 1080p in the living room and I love it the Anti-glare filter is the best I have seen. I think this might be a touch big for the bedroom but it's never to big right!
