Not bad price but if you are near a Brandsmart USA it is $698. Of course HHGregg and Circuit City and Bestbuy will price match that too.

I don't see any huge advantage of the 85u over the 80u. Care to explain?

Is this significantly better than a 1080p LCD in the same price range?

The X in the model nunber means 720P. Z is for 1080P. I think the 85 series has 24fps capability and the 850 series has THX color preset.

Got this with the xbox360 & portable dvd player deal from BestBuy last week @ $900. It is 720 but takes anything you throw at it. PC looks best at 1280x768 w/ATI 3850 via DVI to HDMI adapter. No dead pixels, no burn in issues, picks up several HD stations even though I live in the middle of Pennsyltucky - they have to be at least 50 miles away. This TV runs cool and is light enough I was able to easily set it up by myself. The bright plasma screen is visible from any angle, and the Redskins looked great on it yesterday - no jaggies, no stuttering.

Personally I think it really shines with movies though... the plasma screen makes it look like a "TV"... not a huge computer monitor.

SD channels doesn't look good on these TVs unless it's a Sony. It's the processing circuit that makes difference.

On these TVs? Sony hasn't made a plasma in years. SD material looks far better on a plasma than an LCD. I have the 50" version of this, great TV.
