This is a great deal!
sincerely,
toddsucks
Nice one Dr. Todd
reads at 2x?
are these standard form-factor? e will they fit any laptop?
I've never seen any form factor spec such as ATX for laptops
Just a shame it's IDE, really
#4 Yeah, most notebooks use the same size drives - worst case you'll have to swap the front panel to suit.
This is an amazing deal to have!
I have this and it works great as an external drive for playing bluray on a laptop.

external case $12

or case + drive $79

This seems like a really good deal as the price is about the same as a desktop Blu-Ray player.
thx #8
PS: use the Edit post feature
Does anyone know if netbooks, specifically the Asus 1000HE, are capable of playing Blu-ray disks?
I have a Thinkpad T61. Does anyone know if this will fit?
Hmm. $55- coupon +$0 shipping = $61 shipped?
Apparently you get a free flashing beer mug.
#8 You should mention the $6.23 shipping.
Odd. The case + drive is $79 for 1 or $99 each for 2.
krusty, it says - 25% after the $99.... It is confusing at first
#11 & #12 ever heard of Google? This is not tech support.
was referring to Ben's famous math skills.
Coupon comes to about 17% off.
Right digh it ISN'T tech support but some folks here are techies and nice enough to help out SO CHILL....
Ever hear of being nice? or helpful? LMAO
Love my blu ray drive I had configured with my laptop at purchase time. I'd recommend it to anyone with a beefy enough system for on-the-go BluRay watching (any type of travel, subway commute, etc).
Remember I said "beefy" decoding the A/V stream off Blu-Ray ain't cheap. If you want to know if you have enough processing power, go find a h.264 encoded HD file from somewhere on the Internet and see if you can watch it properly. If you can you would have at least some of the minimums to use the drive (remember that the drive will be slower than playing straight off your hard drive).
To answer a previous question, your average cheapie netbook will not have enough power to provide adequate Blu-ray playback.
Thanks #18 & #19.
To #15, I did do a Google search and was frustrated by not finding an answer. This is what a community means.
