Agreed. Dell charged me over $100 to upgrade to a BD player.

Actually a good price for non-refurb. Before you get too excited about watching Blu-ray movies on the go, playing those discs will eat your battery in no time.

Make sure your laptop drive bay supports IDE. Most newer laptops come with SATA interface.

Makes no sense, why would a new product only come with a 30 day warranty.

It appears to be an OEM device and does not come with any software, you will only get the bare drive.

I believe this is a 12m form factor drive, no good for 9mm bays. Are there any lappies with 12mm IDE bays that have enough horsepower to actually play BD without stuttering?

#10, Those PUMA base notebooks that launch out 1+ years ago. I got an HP tablet from Ebay with Microsoft 35% cashback.

Test this drive and its plays bluray perfectly like nothing to it. I even try other app while Bluray was running and internet was running along fine. I guess the PUMA built-in GPU just took over the decoding.

The tablet is IDE base I could have took the DVD adapter and fit it inside the tablet but I also have a netbook so this is more usefull in a slim external case for me which look very cool.

30 days warranty and IDE? It is obsolete.
