The best part about this deal is that David Attenborough narrates the Blu Ray version of the Planet Earth discs.

No, you need the "Masterbeta" for that.

If this actually goes to $150 I will be all over this player. Best one i've seen Sub-$200.

$150 is starting to be a good price point for the public to get into blu-rays. The only problem is the movies cost too much. Either that or they stop making DVDs.

Why do people talk so much about cost to purchase media? Netflix, Blockbuster, etc all rent Blu Ray discs. You don't need to drop $30+ to watch a movie.

Most people want to have a collection and not just rent it once. Netflix costs more per month to rent blu-ray movies because of the cost of the media.

How long will it be before all physical media distribution is extinct e on-demand downloads of movies?

I think an HD DVD comeback would be extremely highly unlikely.. but I admit I would love it.. I have 60 HD DVDs, three players, and no BR player yet... but I am thinking about getting this one.. good price on a good player.

Finally, a Blu-ray that is not a Memorex and is decently priced!

Could prob dump in on ebay for close to price paid if I don't love it. Still shows 250 price through checkout. Waiting.

If blu-ray is going to go away, what is going to replace it? Traditionally, an adopted format stays around for around 3-5 years and since blu-ray recently got adopted, I'm curious to find out what is on the horizon.
