This is a great price on a really good blu-ray player. I have a version of this that I got at Costco (that I paid about $100 more for about a year ago). No complaints at all. Panasonic makes really good blu-ray players.

No wifi on this model. No Netflix, but supports Vieracast and Amazon VOD.

Wifi might not be a problem. If you have Uverse or Fios, check the set top box for an active LAN port.

I've been looking for a good deal on this for the past few weeks, and this is the lowest I've seen it.

Is TigerDirect a deal breaker though?

wow you know, i wish i had the quality of blu ray but i'm always only just download videos and streaming them online. and if i buy a movie, i'll get bored after the 2nd viewing of the movie. and then blu ray downloads take too dang long. sigh.

I'm really glad the price of BD players came down. Hopefully , the price point on the movies will follow suit.

Some really good reviews on this, but also some warnings of the player randomly freezing during some Blu-ray playback, and not always reproducible.

Well, 12 month manufacturer warranty and cheap price.. I'm in for one.

why would anyone buy a bluray player when a PS3 is a much better investment for your dollar?

This *IS* a good price for a well-regarded player. I think they're having trouble competing against the Netflix players. I just got an LG BD370. After working out an initial problem, connecint to the internet, it works great!

#9 We just bought the LG370 BR player this weekend. We mainly wanted a BR player that could also stream Netflix to our TV. Yes the PS3 does both BR and Netflix as well but it does it for more than twice the price of the LG player we got. Since we don't need the extra features of the PS3 it wouldn't be a better deal for us.

I got this player a while ago for $138, rock solid so far and I have the Panny 35 BD player as well.

Re freezing and stuff, I just used Ethernet to update the firmware and no issues at all.

#4 Samsung BD-P1600 and LG BD370 both at Best Buy right now for $130. I bought the LG because it seems alot of the Samsungs bricked when the firmware update was applied.
Also if you buy one of these online at Best Buy, you get ANY Bluray disc valued at $29.99 or less for free. Put the movie in your cart with the Bluray player and it will show $0.00

Samsung BD-P1600 is $150 at Best Buy right now. That's one of the reasons I got the LG BD370 since it was $130. Ordered online for a free movie and picked it up in the store.

#9 - My wife and I watch movies together more often than gaming together. The gaming feature of a PS3 would not be of much use to me.
