These are excellent phones. They had
http://shop1.frys.com/product/5580730?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG
for $49.00 a few weeks ago, which is what I go.
So what's the range on these things?
My current system is 2.4ghz and then I know they went up to like 5.8 GHz or something and now back to 1.9?
It's 1.9 so it doesn't interfere w/ wi-fi. That's awesome because my router operates on 2.4 ghz and my current phone system constantly cuts my internet whenever the phone rings. It's annoying.
So whats the point of getting a 5.8 ghz phone?
Better signal and clarity also doesn't interfere with wireless. Just make sure it sends and receives in 5.8 ghz though.
This is a great - whole house solution to use with a magicjack
We have one of these Panasonic DECT phones and really like the features, but the voice quality leaves something to be desired. Our old 900 MHz was actually better in that regard, with no line noise at all. The Panasonic often seems to have a hint of static and, very occasionally, a slight echo. The range is about the same.
