panasonic must be trying to get people to switch over from cell phones to landlines...because someone paying 70 dollars for this phone would have to feel forced to use them...

The reviews on this set makes you want to run like a thief in the night away from them.

Most of these phones are annoying to hang. They jet out from the wall way too far.

My advice is to make sure to try it out thoroughly. I have had answering machines that are really stupid to use (I'm talking to you GE). You have 30 messages because the wife is too lazy to delete them, you have to delete one at a time, no delete-all function. Then paging the handset has the base unit make a louder sound compared to the handset which makes it harder to locate.
