Great reviews - HD video w/zoom during record. $290 w/ship at newegg, so this is OK if tax doesn't kill it.

#2 - complete sentences please! Nolo comprende.

This is a good price. Good camera for the price. Lots of quirks, but the price is good. If you don't mind the annoyances and mediocre picture processing quality, it's a good price. It's got HD video, but focus problems and mono sound, but for the price you can't go wrong. Did I mention this is a good deal considering the issues it has?

The camera is not too bulky to carry around and enough zoom capacity (10x) to get up close and personal with the subject. Controls are easy to use. I already have another smaller Lumix camera so that may have helped. I would definitely recommend this camera for it's size and ease of operation.

Overall it is a great camera.

In for one. Good deal even with tax. Choose TZ5 over the SD870IS cause one thing I needed was more zoom over my SD400. TZ5 is bigger than SD870IS but I tried out the canon and its just too compact and you can't place your thumb without hitting some sort of setting change since its jog wheel is touch sensitive. TZ5 screen is spectacular!

I have a TZ3, and I will say the thing works great. Optical 10x is well worth it.

Note that the cover for the lens is rather fragile, and although you're not going to have crap flying at your camera it's just 2 thin things outside the shutter.

The only thing that bugs me is low light scenarios and no fine ISO control are tough to manage on the TZ3, I don't know if they updated that for the TZ5.

When I got TZ3, was about that price too, so definitely a good deal. Note that most shots are panoramic so to take a normal "Square" shot will be 9.1MP but default panoramics will probably be 8.0 or 8.1
