Good price for a just-released, fully feature compact zoom camera with great HD video recording.
And it got some pretty good reviews, too.
But can they PLEASE DON'T put 14MP on a 1/2.33" sensor?
10MP is more than enough for most people!!
These days people want to shoot with ISO800 without seeing noise flying all over like snow flakes!
      Even Canon's flagship P&S, G12, only put 10MP on a 1/1.6" sensor.
      What was Panasonic thinking?

      But,
With all the saying, without a doubt, this is still a very good camera in this category, especially if you plan to shoot a decent amount of video with it.
There's an alternative though. With a few Benjamin more, FZ150 has flip screen, external microphone port, and a F2.8 max lens, That's if you are fine with the bulkier body size....

The AVCHD (.mts) format can let you record video till either the card gets full or battery runs out.
But it will automatically separate the files once reaches 4GB (because of FAT32 structure)

Also, for the post editing, on PC you can use Sony Vegas or Format Factory. On Mac, you can use Toast. But if you plan to use iMovie or Final Cut, remember DON'T drag the .mts file out of the folder. just import the whole AVCHD folder from the card.
