I got this a month ago for 20 less. first one came busted but new egg sent me another one in a few days time. I am using it in 480i mode with regular dvds and the picture is outstanding. once I get a new hdmi cable I know its gonna get even better. would buy again anytime at this price.

Beware of the '09 models. They have a black level problem that Panasonic refuses to do anything about. I'd stay away from any of last year's models. The new TVs are just starting to come out now.

#5 - Is this impacting the X1 models as well? I thought they seem to get by without this issue.

    Thanks.

Cnet warns that this TV could have problems and advises against purchasing:

The complaints I've seen focus on the G10 & V10 models but I'd be very leary of buying any of the '09 TVs. The new models are out now and each new year brings improvements and price drops, last year excluded on the improvements, so it doesn't make much sense to buy a TV that could have problems Panasonic refuses to fix.

#4 The '10 models have the same problem, it just happens at a slower rate. Panasonic still contends that it's a feature not a problem. I have a 50" S1 and I haven't noticed anything. Understand that something that is touted as a huge problem by the anal douches over at the AVS forums may be something that an average viewer wouldn't even notice.

These TVs are still relatively new. There's no telling what they will look like in a few years when they are already having problems now. It's hard not to see a problem you know exists, especially when people buy plasma because of superior black levels. I wouldn't buy one at this point.
