Just a general question.....What company has the best TV's performance wise??
We've just picked this TV up and I'm extremely pleased with it. Did a lot of research beforehand and this came out to be the best buy. Consumer Reports also rates this particular TV pretty high.
Boswho.com ??? This one is a good tv. and I need one. Tried to buy one from Fry's for $1200 incl. shipping but they kept screwing me around so cancelled that. Then c.city had same deal but I waited too long on that one. One note: the TH-42PX600U is much better looking cosmetically (no huge silver on bottom.) and a couple other upgrades. I saw it for like $1366+200 ship on butterflyphotoDOTcom

#1) Sharp (Aquos)*, panasonic, and Sony (Bravia)* are the front runners, it seems.
*note: these are as close to the names/spelling as I can remember, and I'm tool lazy to look 'em up for you. No offense...I'm just lazy.
I never heard of them but it looks like they have quite a few B&M stores in the NE. One is in Frederick, MD which might be good for a CC price-match in the DC area.
CC has this for the same price
I love my Vizio 42" Plasma from Costco deal @$999.99
Hey WaltW, they just opened one in White Marsh Mall also. I believe that Boscov's is a reputable company stemming out of PA. I've bought a few things from them online and had a nice experience.
i got the same TV as #7 at Costco...this panny was on display next to it..bacon looked about the same and did not justify the cost difference to me. That said...check costco for this tv for around the same price.
Nope #6 wrong. c is now $1479 or something when you add it to cart. And they are out of stock. So is Fry's (out of stock ) and $1300. This is a good tv but cosmetically looks too silver check the 600 like i said. Performance wise, rock solid. I read tons of reviews. This IS a great tv. but I dont want to pay $50 more than it was a week ago. And I've never heard of bocows.com (says est. 1921)
the 1080p is about 5k do if 1080i is suitable well you know. Buy it
#9: Judging TVs by how the image quality looks on a store display unit is a terrible idea, since those TVs are never properly calibrated (e the brightness is usually set way too high, etc). But, the main reason to choose Panasonic is because these guys have pretty much perfected the plasma display technology over the years. They made the longevity and burn-in a non-issue.
CostCo does NOT sell this tv. They sell the Costco model (Panasonic TH-42PX6U) - was $1299 last week. Circut city also sells this TV (Panasonic TH-42PX60U) $1199, but I guess they are out.
The 6U = 60U - SD Slot (and maybe one more input).
is this the same TV that's at Best Buy on Black Friday for $999?
Yes #14, but it was almost impossible to get that price at besbbuy on BF, unless if you went there before midnite
I got it for $900 (still waiting on the $200 Panny rebate then $700)with the HDTV deal at Best Buy last week. When you get the DirectTV H2O receiver and installation they take a 600 off.
Once I got the color settings right it looks 10 times better than the display they had in the store. Great plasma for the price.
one of my friends got the panny on BF at a magnolia store. I guess most people went to best buy and camped out while she just walked into magnolia around noon on friday and bought it...the costco one is probably the next best bet.
I am reading reports that some Plasmas are failing and/or starting to burn out at about 5 years. I guess this is a good deal if you don't plan to keep it longer than 5 years.
is there a website to show what's the best color setting for each model HDTV?
