According to Frys rules, if your status is back order:
"You will be notified by email if the product is on backorder. On day 28, you will receive a second notification if the item is still on backorder. In this email, you will be asked to respond within 30 days that you wish the order to remain active and you agree to an indefinite ship date. If you do not instruct us to keep the order active, it will be cancelled after 30 days with no further notification. Call for updated estimated delivery dates."

What just still makes me a bit nervous is that this is such a great deal...I am still waiting for the catch.

Mine says "partial backorder" on one screen. Then "backorder" on the next screen. At least they haven't cancelled it yet. When I bought the thumb drive for like $12 they cancelled it within 48 hours. Prolly coz it was too good a deal.

This deal is good, maybe $200 less than current lowest market price but not that great a deal bestbuysux.

Let's just hope those canadian bacons at Fry's don't try to back out of these because they are losing money or at cost.

Sui, when you placed your order online, did it say 'In stock, Ships Same Day' or 'Call for Availability'?

Mine is a bit screwy:

But if I click on the order... item details is still 'In Process!'

I got same e-mail as #45, and according to Fry's rules about backorder, I don't hold any hope they will ship the TV.

Yep, same as #45 here too. I think I'll put some pressure on them to ship mine before the rest of you n00bs. Who knows how many people tried to get in on this when it was $1300.

This is looking worse and worse. Fry's dont care about cancelling orders or the customer.

Just a backorder email, if they cancel this order, I will never even bother to purchase anything from them ever again! PERIOD!

Finally! My Panny arrived today (via DHL) and everyone is good. I was a bit worried for a while but it seems FRYS didn't burn me. Whew!

Well crap where is mine? Still says backorder on my screen. Those fockers better ship mine soon. Are you sure you got yours and aren't just yanking our chains?? Whats it look like u got it on the wall yet?

Last Friday, my order did go to backorder .. But I called them that day and said when I placed the order, it showed 'In Stock, Ships same day'. The customer service said something about IM'ing the shipping manager. Anyhow later that day I recieved an e-mail with a tracking number. I thought the tracking number wasn't working but I found out there was an extra 4 digits on the end for some reason... I removed those extra digits and seen that there was a 91 pound object shipping to me.

I did not hang it up yet, just on the stand included. The picture is awesome. I just used the same settings recommended by some website that professionally calibrated unit was set to and the picture got even better.

The TV's manufactured date is October 2006, so these are getting sent out as fast as then can make em'.

Just got off phone with them I tried what bestbuysux did but it didn't work. They said my order was placed on OCT 25 the last day it read "IN STOCK SHIPS SAME DAY" Oct. 24th . Doh!

Anyway, they did say the next shipment was due to arrive on 11-09. Supposedly my order is in there.

LOL, I also emailed to them last week (instead of calling them) and they gave me the same answer twice. The larger size TV should be arriving on 11/09 at their warehouse, so we won't get our TV until next week at the earliest.
