A lot of money for a stunning PQ 42" HDTV? I've got news for you...real 1080P is not going to happen on HDTV channels for some time now. It's a function of how much bandwidth each HDTV channel is allotted. 1080P by its very nature already takes up more bandwidth than currently allotted to any station. Even movies won't benefit as much as you think from 1080p. But seriously, check out this model and/or others in its family (37" and 50" in the TH-xx60U series Panasonics. Just an amazing picture when it's adjusted correctly. Compares to ANY HDTV for PQ, in my view.

Here's the article about why 1080p really doesn't matter right now:

so are these like non-square pixels or something?
      resolution doesn't match aspect ratio...

I own this tv and it is amazing. It looks better than any other plasma/lcd on regular tv, and very very nice on hdtv signals.

Why 1080p does matter RIGHT NOW: Most people don't buy TVs every year or two.

I think it's rather funny when the new BizRate links at the top provide a better deal than the one you are looking at here!

Now...granted I know Circuit City as opposed to PriceMad but we're Ghetto Dogs right? Cheaper the better...

Shipping is $200.00 at PriceMad. You're are asking for trouble if you are going to spend $1950 at some grey market internet company based in Manhattan.

NEVER buy anything over the internet from NY or NJ. Too many crooked companies there.
