1024x768 is a strange resolution for a 16x9 screen. It's normally 1366x768 for 720p monitors. So I would expect black sides or stretching of the image.

It continues to offer superior picture quality, so manufacturers keep making plasma displays for those that want the best picture available.

#6 you're an rodeo cowboy. Post links to these supposed things wrong.

The price isn't that good for a 42".

The 50" will be this price in a couple of months.

The price is fine. I'm guessing #6 is referring to the fact that most professional reviewers ripped on this TV. But I'm guessing that the image problems are tough to spot without a side-by-side because most of the consumer reviews are very positive.

Plasmas are totally the way to go unless you want something smaller than 42" or you have a strange obsession with your electricity bill.

I have one and it works great for me. It has a nicer picture than most LCD (60hz) and it was waaaay cheaper than a comparable 120hz LCD.

But, I got it for this price 6 months ago. If you need one now and you're not ready to drop $800+, get this. If not, wait until Oct/Nov. Usually, you can get a great deal even before Black Friday.

I got the 50" version of this plasma about a year ago and i love it. Colors are still awesome and have had no problems.
