Where is the draw back on this one? Seems like a pretty good deal for $550 including shipping

#1 Only typical plasma issues. Hard to beat at this price point.

      #1, it's called 720p. That's the drawback.

There's no drawback in 720p at this size unless you sit very close and only watch blu-rays.

The drawback is size. I bought a 42" Panny plasma for a bedroom thinking it was plenty big enough going up from a 34", within less than 6 months it was too small. I bought a 50" to replace it well over a year ago and it still seems like about the right size.

you have no idea what you're talking about. 720p -> 1080i or 1080p are both an enormous difference both in pixel size and quality. 720p is better than 480p (dvd quality), but not by much.

Plenty of people do things other than watch bluray, some people upconvert (which looks the same as 480p), and some people actually download bluray movies legitimately, and play them from PC -> TV. PC's can decode bluray, it's only the lack of a player that means nothing really.

You're the clueless one. ALL HDTVs upconvert to their native resolution. Saying 720p isn't much different than 480p and 1080 is so much better is ridiculous.

You have to sit very close, 6' or less, to see a difference between 720p and 1080p, even with a 1080p source, on this size TV. SD sources look better at 720p than 1080p. So unless you're going to watch mostly 1080p sources, which very few people do, there's no advantage to 1080p except for PC use.

You 1080p trolls really need to get a clue.

      I think "Samijubal" is correct

I bought this deal last week and the TV is Great. and the most important thing the DEAL is great.

Anything better than this is at least $250 more which is 50% more than the price of this TV

Picture elements on a 42 incher are the same size as on a 31 inch 4x3 set so keep that in mind if you're planning on this as your main display.

I have this TV. I just got a Sammy 120hz 46" LCD and this Panasonic Plasma Spanks it as far as Football is concerned. Both are properly calibrated from time well spent on the AVS forums. If I was to do it over I would have gotten a 50" Plasma listed here in the new threads. I still can return the LCD and am thinking of it.

Plasma's RULE when it comes to Sports and Fast motion HD Satellite TV since its only 1080i.

If I were watching PURELY Blue Ray. I would get a LCD.

Since I dont and not many others do just watch blue ray. I am a Plasma believer at this Price Point.

The price is getting so good recently. Panasonic has a good track record of reliability while delivering good picture quality.
