Great deal. I've been looking at this tv for a few days. It's $650 on newegg and $679 on amazon right now. I love how Dell's 2 yr extended warranty costs more than the tv itself.
Yeah, these are getting cheaper, I looked at this one in person and it has a great picture, even for 720p.
#1 If you don't care about blu-ray and just use it for HDTV, it's an excellent way to go.
720p on this size is fine. With the new TVs right around the corner and the improvements and price drop in each new line, I'd wait for the next generation TVs.
I'm so glad there's a link to Mmm bacon boots deals on this television discussion. Thank you, bot-gods!
Seems a bit high. Got this from Amazon a few months ago for $479 with free white glove delivery.
I have this, but only because I won it. I'm not a fan of plasma and prefer LCD. Plasma whites aren't and the picture just seems noisier, and less vibrant to me. I like the punchier sharper picture of LCD better. If your into plasmas Panasonic is a good brand, Samsungs are supposed to be good too. Pioneer used to make the best but they threw in the towel on plasma.. Plasmas are cheaper for a given screen size and probably give a better picture at the same price point but if your willing to spend more I think you get more from a LCD. I love my sammy LN52B750. Blows the doors off of this. I have compared it to the best Panasonic has to offer in store and still would stay with what I have. The LED LCD ones are over rated and not fully baked IMHO.. Have unique problems of their own. If you go to the AVforums there is more info there than you would want to know on all of this stuff..
i just bought a 42" panasonic viera (S series) 1080p from sears for $650. plus used bing's 8% c/b. that almost covered the entire 8.65 taxes here in NY. total was $654 after c/b. s- got an email from bing w/in the hour of purchase with the c/b confirmation. looks great.
If you order form j and r or b and h, they will price match online prices- no tax and no shipping on all most all items.
