This seems to be an average price. Amazon has it for $599 on a regular basis. Also, not so sure it's a great price for Californians since you have to pay up to 9.75% sales tax and a $25 E-Waste fee. When you consider that Amazon sells the 50" Panny (TC-P50X1) for as low as $669 with no tax (price on Amazon goes up/down daily), e-waste or shipping, this 42" price/deal isn't all that great. Non-California residents are the ones who get the better deal.

Don't forget that BestBuy also sells the 50" Panny along with the XBox Elite for $699, which, if you need an XBox too, is a good deal (for non-Californians).

UPDATE: As of 12/13 the $699 deal from BB is no longer available, and as others have kindly mentioned, it was for the 42" not 50". Sorry. Just FYI, this deal was available as of my posting late 12/12.

#1 speaks the truth. I bought this for $480 from Amazon back in October.

give me a break. 600 is a good deal. and it is VERY rare to see it less than $500.

#1 needs to edit the post... Best Buy no longer has the 42" Panny Plasma XBox deal. He even got the wrong size TV saying it is a 50" Plasma with the Xbox....

With the new models right around the corner and the picture improvements and price drop with each new line of TVs, this isn't a deal at all. You'd be a lot better off to wait for the new models, unless you need a TV right now.

#3 is correct, the BB deal was $699 for the 42" Panny + Xbox.

Dell also had it for $480 around the same time. It hovered around 600 from Amazon for weeks at a time. If you want to talk yourself into this being a deal...your prerogative.
