Is this TV any good? I heard somewhere that it isn't a natural 720p or something like that.

This model actually has an above average 3D-comb filter, so image quality is slightly better than the TC-S42XC. I've seen both in person and personally would choose neither of them, instead going for a set with 1080p.

Its a nice Tv.. The only thing I would want would be the 1080p just because I like the option of hooking it up to my laptop. It received really good reviews on Amazon.

The thing is, how much more would it cost to get a 1080p version of this? Are we talking $100-$200 more, and in your opinion, is it really worth the extra money if your going to use it as a bedroom/gaming tv?

I'm in for one. I have an older version of this TV and it looks great, much better than a new Sharp LCD I have. This is a great price for a 42". 720p is fine for me.

Here come the 1080p trolls again. Unless you're going to sit 6' or less away or plan on connecting to a computer, not a very good idea with a plasma, 720p is the same as 1080p in this size set. I have last year's 50", it's a great TV. This is definitely a very good price for a Panny plasma.

It is a good tv. If you have the money it would make a great bedroom tv.

Can't go wrong with any of the recent Panny plasmas. As others have mentioned you won't notice the difference unless you are sitting very close to the screen and have a 1080p set right next to it to compare.

Panasonic had a good rep for plasmas. Looks like a good deal to me. I'm starting to second guess my Sony Bravia purchase with prices like these.... no, not really.

This is a great price. 1080p isn't worth the money at 42".

#14, best buy doesn't price match online deals. or at least that's what they told me last time i tried.

How much more electricity does this use compared to an LCD?

Great price and Panny is a no brainer for plasmas. I was considering the Panny 50" G10 series but went with a Sammy LN52B750 LCD instead. Was tempted by the low price of plasmas but I felt the plasmas have a less sharp picture, more video noise, washed out colors, don't do as well in bright rooms, suck more juice, and still have burn in issues although improved over previous gens. A number of manufactures are pulling the plug on plasma and sticking with LCD, even Pioneer who makes the best plasmas. I use mine as a media PC/home theater so 1080P and burn in were important for me. Not bashing plasmas they float some peoples boat I would consider it for secondary locations, bedroom, etc..

It is a great deal but the electricity usage could be a deal stopper. Now if you want a hanging wall heater for Winter use.
